Hallelujah, Christ Arose!

Julie, Grant, and I headed to Dothan on Friday for Easter weekend. When we got to Dothan Friday night, Mom had the refrigerator stocked full of my favorite foods - chicken salad, orzo salad, chilled asparagus, and fresh black bean salad. It was delicious! Dad also had Grant a tub of Mexican Connection salsa waiting on him.

On Saturday, the guys played golf and Julie and I helped Mom and Juleann with Altar Guild at the church. It definitely made me realize the preparation and hard work that goes into making the church so beautiful for Easter Sunday. Julie and I were in charge of putting the flowers on the children's cross in the garden. I wish I took a picture of it because it looked beautiful if I do say so myself :) I have many childhood memories of placing flowers from home on the cross Easter Sunday.

Saturday night, Quin and Judy Harris came over for dinner. The menu included: ribs with Quin's famous "rib rub," corn on the cob, squash casserole, slaw, and banana pudding.

The ribs were so good nobody would stop for a picture!

After the early service at church on Sunday we headed over to Juleann and Sam's house. We had our family's traditional Easter lunch - ham, deviled eggs, squash casserole, sweet potato casserole, pea salad, potato salad, green beans, and Sister Schubert rolls. For dessert, we had a cake from Olexa's Bakery in Birmingham. It was TO.DIE.FOR.

One day I hope I can put together a beautiful flower arrangement and decorate a dining room table like Juleann! I'm seriously doubting it.

And I'll close with a picture of my parent's favorite child.

A Day of Golf

Yesterday, Grant, Shipley, Julie and I decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and play a round of golf.  It was a little chilly but nothing that a couple of hots dogs couldn't help :)

Julie and I decided to take a swing at a ball or two - NOT pretty!

Around hole 12, Grant spent a little more time in the bushes looking for his ball than on the green.

We ended our fabulous day at Shipley's house for dinner. Shipley grilled chicken and corn, and Julie and I made my mom's sweet and tangy cole slaw. Can't wait to do it again!

Jenny and George's Engagement Party

This past weekend we celebrated Jenny and George's engagement at a beautiful home in Birmingham. I loved getting to visit with my college and high school friends all in one night. I'm so happy Jenny and George will be staying in Birmingham for their residencies and can't wait for their big day on May 7th!

Loved meeting Sarah's sweet fiance, Matthew!

My Best Friend's Wedding

Ragan and I have been best friends since the second grade. My favorite quality of our friendship is that it's easy. We just get each other. We have so much in common, yet we are so different. We always joked that we would never get married and we'd end up working at the Piggly Wiggly together in Dothan, AL. Needless to say, we didn't do much dating in high school. I couldn't have picked a more perfect husband for Ragan.

The wedding weekend kicked off with a lovely bridesmaids luncheon at Ragan's aunt's house in Ozark.

Kyle's parents hosted a beautiful rehearsal dinner at the Botanical Gardens. Megan, Virigina, and I attempted a rehearsal dinner speech, but we desperately needed the #1 yaya up there with us :)

The ceremony at Heritage Baptist Church was so beautiful and special. Ragan was the most beautiful, radiant bride and Kyle looked so handsome. The reception was at a restored building in downtown Dothan called The Grand - it was breathtaking! Their reception was one of the first at this new venue. It was such a wonderful weekend and one that I will never forget. I only took one picture at the reception and Ragan isn't even in it! I can't wait to see Art Solomon's pics.
