Christmas 2014

Well...here I am posting about our Christmas in Texas almost a month later! Life has been busy! We traveled to Granny's for Christmas and had a wonderful time being with family despite William being very sick. Before we left for TX he had just recovered from the flu so I was hopeful we'd have a sick-free trip! I was WRONG! William ran high fevers, had a terrible cough (that caused him to vomit most nights), and slept worse than he did as an infant. He also didn't eat the entire time we were there. Looking back, we probably should've taken him to a walk-in clinic, but you live and learn! He was diagnosed with strep throat and an ear infection upon our return. He's back to his normal, happy, hungry self now and for that we are thankful!

We spent Christmas Eve at Dana and Greg's house in Waco. This was before the fevers started for William, so he had one full day of feeling well before things went downhill!

Payton is SO SWEET to William and he adores her.
After a fun day of playing outside, we went to the Christmas Eve service at Dana and Greg's church. William got to go to the nursery with Finley. I wasn't sure if he'd freak out or not but he walked right in holding hands with his cousin.
The kids got to exchange gifts Christmas Eve.

 Tyler loved his new hat!
The girls had fun decorating their jewelry boxes.

William got to paint his wooden choo choo train!

Christmas morning, we woke up at Granny's house to find that Santa had come! William had a 103 fever and tried his best to play with his toys and act excited but he was pitiful. The morning started with a major meltdown because Santa ate his cookies. We forgot to explain that you leave cookies out for Santa, so he was very upset when he found some half-eaten cookies and an empty cup of milk!
William was obsessed with the Polar Express movie this year, so Santa left him one of his sleigh bells.

He finished off Santa's cup of milk :)
 Christmas morning bedhead :)

 A SMILE :)
Exhausted Daddy from being up all night with a sick little boy. I was so sad to miss the big Davis family Christmas dinner in Dallas, but I knew William needed to stay home and rest after a long night.  So we sent Grant and Granny to meet the rest of the family while he rested with me. I honestly enjoyed "cuggling" (William's word for snuggle and cuddle) with William and watching movies all day long. He kept saying, "Mommy I so sowry I sick."

Greg and Dana decided to brave the cooties and came out to Granny's lake house (as planned) for the remainder of the weekend. We finally all got to open Christmas gifts together and in true Granny fashion, she spoiled these babies rotten!

 HAPPY kids.

Granny got William v-tech Smartcars with enough tracks to build an entire town! He's enjoyed racing his cars on his special play mat now that we are back at home.
These 2 are about to be way outnumbered come March :)
After opening gifts, we all headed outside for a little fresh air!

4 little monkey's! I just realized we have practically no pictures of the adults. Let's do better on our family beach trip this summer of getting some of us in the pics ;)

Birdie and Ahdah's Wedding

December 20, 2014 is a day I will never forget. My little sister got married! It was such a lovely, beautiful, memorable day. "Ahdah" is William's name for David. We have no clue where he came up with it but it's stuck and we love it!
Cousin Lee was her makeup artist.
FUMC Dothan is always beautiful at Christmastime!

Ring bearer William kept things lively :) He walked down the aisle holding my hand but made a quick departure from the church with Daddy after his debut! You'll notice Grant isn't in one of these pictures. He was a SAINT and was William's personal assistant/playmate all weekend long while I was busy doing sister of the bride duties. The professional photographer got a bunch of family pictures of us so I'll come back with those later.

Hanging out in the church parlor before the ceremony.

Mommy looking very pregnant but wanted to post these for the family album.

I may be bias but she was a gorgeous bride.

Beautiful reception at Mom and Dad's house

William waited a very long time for his reward - a piece of cake! He weasled his way up to the front for the best view.

After the reception, William went missing for a little bit. I found him upstairs trying to call Birdie and Ahdah and saying, "come back. where'd you go." Needless to say, he ADORES them!!!

Before heading back to Birmingham, we went to church and lunch with the fam.

Best buds.
