William is 3!!

Our little boy is 3 years old today. I seriously cannot believe he is already THREE years old. I still vividly remember when he was a tiny little baby and now he's a full fledge little BOY! Most people who know William would describe him as extremely outgoing, active, strong willed, determined, loving, happy, talkative, smart and sensitive. I know those are a lot of adjectives but he truly radiates all of them. Lately, I'd say talkative and active describes him most :) He lives every minute to the fullest, even talking in his sleep. The first thing he says when he opens his eyes in the morning is "Is it time to get up? The sun is out. Let's go" and he goes all.day.long.

Some things I'll want to remember about our spunky boy at 3 years old:

  • He can count to 20
  • Sings his ABC's
  • He naps for 2- 2.5 hrs. at school but naps at home are hit or miss
  • Recently learned to identify all the letters in his name
  • His favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
  • He does not enjoy going to bed and stays up until 9pm most nights. He will not sleep in his bed alone which has created quite a bit of tension and stress with 2 children.
  • He loves all fruit, chicken, hamburgers, beef tacos, Frozen treats (fruit snacks that are Frozen themed)
  • He hates vegetables.
  • His best friend at school is named Charlie
  • His "best durl" is Charlotte
  • He loves playing "baketball" with Daddy
  • He's obsessed with the iPad. His favorite shows are Bubble Guppies, Peppa the Pig, and Caillou
  • He randomly tells us "I love you" which melts our hearts
  • He has been potty trained since he was about 2.5 and has done really well with that. This was probably the easiest milestone for us so far.
Funny words he can't pronounce:
  • Fingers are "dingers"
  • Computer is a "papooter." He got upset the other day because he doesn't have his own "papooter" and wont' be a big boy until he has one to take to work with him.
  • Four is "door"
  • Charlotte is his baby "durl"
William, I have definitely aged over this past year keeping up with your spunky, hilarious self but I wouldn't trade your zest for life for anything in the entire world. You are the BEST big brother to your little sister. I am so proud of you and LOVE being your Mommy.

Last belly pic I took. 36 weeks.
Last picture of William before he was a big brother. This was at the park the Sunday before Charlotte was born.

I just noticed Charlotte is smiling in this pic :)

First night home
One terrible, bad, no good, VERY bad day.
After a day of fits, he finally crashed.

Island Pond

William, Charlotte and I made a quick trip to Dothan a couple of days ago. On our way, we decided to take a detour to Leary, GA to visit the Fleming's gorgeous hunting camp. Making a 4 hour trip with a 4 week old and toddler was by far the bravest thing I've done as a mom. Thankfully they were both SO good! William was enthralled with all of the wildlife and wide open spaces. We can't wait to go back this fall and send William hunting with the big boys :)

Blurry pic. He loved riding around the plantation on the gator with Steve.
Next time I hope to get William on a horse!
Not a bad view for my morning cup of coffee.

One Month Old

Our sweet Charlotte is one month old. It's already hard remembering what life was like before she was here. She has brought so much happiness to our family and she is the sweetest baby. So far, she seems like an easier baby than William, in terms of her demeanor and sleeping at night, but this could be because we are more relaxed with baby number two :). She spent most of her first month sleeping and rarely opening her eyes.

Over the past couple of days she's become more alert and had more wakeful periods. We've loved seeing her pretty eyes more. She eats about every 3 hours, day and night. I've mainly been pumping so far because she nurses for hours at a time and still acts ravenous after a feeding, so for now she's getting pumped breast milk and it's going great! William has been so sweet with his "Charbaby" and his "best durl." He loves her so much. The other night I put Charlotte to bed while William was in the bath and he sobbed because he was sad she was already asleep when he got out of the tub. He said "I didn't kiss my best durl good night." I can't wait to see their relationship develop over the years. I know he's going to be a protective big brother! He loves fiercely :)

I've decided taking a picture of a newborn is harder than a toddler!

She had a great first check-up with the pediatrician!

We love you angel baby Charlotte!!!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter in Birmingham this year. Granny was in town for a visit so we had lots of help making it out the door all dressed for church.

My sweet babies. This is the face William gives us when he's had enough time holding her.

The Easter bunny came. William didn't get the concept of the bunny this year but he was excited to wake up to some goodies nonetheless :)

You'll notice it's still dark outside in these pics. He wakes up at 6am on the dot every.single.morning.
He named his bunny "Bocky the Snowman." He was a big fan of FROSTY the snowman over Christmas and got a little confused with the name :)
He loves her SO much that sometimes we worry he may squeeze a little too hard! Ignore the gatorade mustache on the boy :)
Poor Charbaby was hungry and not feeling the photo shoot!
 My loves!

William with his wobble ball the Easter bunny brought him.
In true William fashion, he had a run in with the coffee table Easter morning bruising his cheek. So typical.

 My girl!
Still can't believe these children are mine.
