Christmas in Dothan

We were in Dothan for Christmas this year. A lot has changed since 2013 Christmas in Dothan! We gained 4 family members - Katie, David, Charlotte and Ann Torrence! The addition of these four wonderful people made Christmas even more special than years past. When I think of Christmas in Dothan, my mind floods with traditions from my own childhood that I'm now getting to experience with Grant, William and Charlotte. I'm the sentimental type so I love making new memories with my little family. Here are some pics of a fun and chaotic couple of days in Dothan.

Before Christmas Eve church service

Taking pictures of 3 young children is nearly impossible and to think next year baby Shaw will be in the mix :)

Not too many great grandfathers could get on the floor to play with their great grandchildren. William and Charlotte adore Sam.

Setting out cookies for Santa

Checking out what Santa brought him. The word of Christmas 2015 was PAW PATROL.

William was just as interested if not more in what Santa brought the babies.

It was a memorable and fun Christmas for sure!

Ann Torrence's Baptism

On December 20th we had a very special day celebrating out sweet Ann Torrence. She was baptized at Canterbury United Methodist Church.

The 3 and 4 year old choir sang right before she was baptized. William and I joined the children for the Children's Moment and stayed at the front.

 With her godmother, Mary Neal.

Ann Torrence, you have been such a blessing to our family. Your sensitive, determined, feisty little personality brings so much laughter and fun to our family. We love you.

9 Months Old

I blinked and our sweet baby girl is NINE months old. It's hard to imagine life without her. She is such a happy, easy going, content baby and she officially owns her mommy. I think the feeling is mutual because Charlotte is a huge mommy's girl right now. Enough of the mush and on with some pics and what our best girl has been up to this past month! I took these pictures over at Julie and David's before I took Ann Torrence's Christmas card pics. I was playing around with my camera settings so some of these pics are a little blurry ;)

She still loves to clap and wave bye-bye. She now has 2 bottom teeth!
She still has very little hair and that is just fine with me because it makes her look more babyish in my mind. She has started showing the first signs of separation anxiety and will whimper if a stranger is holding her. I secretly love it. She also doesn't like us to leave the room which makes it virtually impossible to get anything done. Sometimes I put her in the ergo carrier to do things around the house.

She adores her big brother and he gets the biggest laughs out of her. She also loves her Daddy and says "dadadadada" all the time. I don't think she associates that with Grant but it is definitely her first word!
She's still not the best sleeper but I'm used to it at this point. She usually goes to bed between 6 and 6:30 and wakes up around 1am for a bottle and then sleeps until 6. I may do round 2 of CIO when we are done with holiday traveling. She naps twice a day and the time and length vary.
She's drinking a 6 oz. bottle every 3-4 hrs and she eats baby food twice/day. Her favorites are butternut squash and carrots. She makes a HUGE mess when she eats and most of the food ends up ON her rather than in her mouth. We've tried some table food (tiny bits of cheese and peas) and she's doing better with it than William did at her age. She loves puffs!

She chews on everything! She doesn't crawl and has never even pushed up on all fours. I asked the pediatrician about this and he assured me that she is perfectly healthy and meeting milestones as she should. He said some babies never crawl and crawling is not considered a motor milestone. In his experience, babies with more laid back temperaments sometimes skip crawling and go straight to walking. So far, she has a very reserved, easy going personality so maybe this is true. She does like to stand in our laps and stand holding onto a table. She rolls around everywhere! She can get from one end of the room to another in a matter of seconds by rolling.

I would love to know just how many times I've kissed that smooth, round little head.
When she's not being held, she's usually in her jumperoo or being tackled/smothered by William in the pack n play (where we keep all of her toys). She's such a good sport and rarely cries, although William is very rough with her. Sometimes you can see the look of terror in her eyes saying "HELP ME" when William is in one of his smothering moods :)
She can sometimes be very serious, mainly when in new situations, but at home she is quite a chatter box and giggles at anything.

9 Month Stats:

Height: 29 inches (90th percentile)

Charlotte, this Christmas season is extra special because we have YOU. I can't wait to see you experience your first Christmas. You are so very loved baby girl!!!
