A Visit to Dothan

Grant and I headed to D-Town for the weekend Friday night after work. We were very excited to see Douglas' "new" house and visit with Quin at Extendicare. He had major back surgery in Columbus, GA  two weeks ago and is doing his rehabilitation at Extendicare. He's making progress each day but is still in a good deal of pain. However, with his attitude and determination, I have no doubt that he will make a full recovery in no time.

Saturday was Grant's 29th birthday! He spent his day playing golf with Douglas and my Dad. After golf, they went to Beef O' Brady's for lunch. Mom and I walked at Westgate, ate leftovers for lunch at Juleann and Sam's house (even thought they were in Highlands), and then spent the majority of the remainder of our wedding gift credit at Northcutt's. Our den has undergone a nice facelift with a "new" rug (hand-me-down from Quin), two lamps, two prints, and two fancy adult pillows :)

We had steaks for Grant's birthday dinner and a cake from Olexa's. On the way back to Birmingham today, we stopped in Montgomery to visit with Kat and Robert and saw their beautiful new home! Montgomery is nearly a half-way point for our trips to Dothan and we hope to be able to visit with them during our trips more often!

Overall, it was a GREAT weekend! Tomorrow I go to UAB orientation for my "new" position at Children's Hospital. 10 days until we go to TX for Labor Day. CAN. NOT. WAIT.
