10 Months Old

This past month has been quite busy for our little family. William had visits from Granny, Juju, and Daddy Steve so he got lots of love and attention from the grandparents. He also had RSV at the beginning of the month which was not fun! He never really seemed all that sick but he was whiny, whiny, whiny! I'll be honest, those were probably some of the most frustrating days yet. I felt so sorry for him, but nothing could appease him for 2-3 days. I didn't think our happy, easy-going babe would ever return. Thankfully, by day 4 he was back to his happy-go-lucky self. The frustrating thing about RSV is that there is really nothing you can do to treat it. We took him to the pediatrician but he said it just needed to run it's course. As many "cooties" as he's exposed to at school and the church nursery on Sundays, we are very thankful he hasn't had too many illnesses and only one antibiotic, so I'm not complaining!

He's still taking 6oz bottles every 4 hours and only eating stage 2 baby food, no table food or stage 3 baby food. He gags when anything solid hits his tongue. It's quite dramatic. His favorite baby food continues to be anything with bananas (banana/blueberry, banana/squash, banana/brown rice/squash, banana/carrot, banana/strawberry, green beans/banana) and he also likes apple/sweet potato, spinach/apple/blueberries, and a mixed berry assortment. The only thing he doesn't like and will not tolerate is peas. I don't blame him! He's also not taking a sippy cup, and I've tried 4 different brands. Again, we will keep trying.

He loves looking out the window in his room.
 "Look at me! No hands"

He hasn't been sleeping all that great this month. He usually goes to bed between 7-8pm and has been waking up around 1am and between 5-6am. Being the push-over parents that we are, Grant and I feed him whenever he wakes up. I know, I know - this is not good for us or William in the long-run. We may try some "sleep boot camp" this weekend, but we shall see. I feel like I'm sounding like negative Nancy in this post...he's doing a lot of awesome things too ;)

He's still saying "mama/dada/baba" and has added "fafa" and "nana" to the mix. He's cruising around all the furniture and does his best to get from Point A to Point B without crawling if at all possible. He can also stand unassisted for 10-15 seconds. I can't believe he'll be walking soon.

William is officially a DADDY'S BOY - for now ;) . His preference between me and Grant changes from week to week but lately he has been ALL about Dada. I love that he lights up when he sees Grant. We usually wait on the front door step until Grant gets home from work, and as soon as he sees Grant pull into the driveway he starts kicking his legs and squealing with excitement. On the inside, I am VERY happy when dada gets home too so I can get a break...HAHA!

He moved up to the Infant 3 classroom and has been there for 2 weeks now. For once, he looks so tiny compared to the other babies. Most of them are walking and they all eat table food. His entire class goes down for a nap around 11:30 everyday EXCEPT for William.  I think he knows that's his chance to get all of the attention from the teachers! It always cracks me up to see all the babies sleeping soundly in their cribs and William playing peek-a-boo with a teacher. I guess he wants us to get our money's worth from the daycare. William and I have started going to a little "mommy and me" playtime at the library every Thursday morning. We've both really enjoyed it, and I love seeing William interacting with other children! I can't believe we are two months shy of his 1st birthday - lots of exciting times to come!
