My mom has had these same Easter decorations for as long as I can remember. I hope I acquire some fun holiday decorations over the years!
He gets excited about new toys.
He really enjoyed taking everything out of his basket and scattering it all throughout the house. This has continued since we returned to Birmingham. I'm thinking we'll find eggs around here for the next year. When I dropped him off at school this morning, I didn't realize he was still holding onto two eggs until we got in his classroom. I wasn't about to take them from him, so I let the teachers figure that one out after I left.
Believe it or not, we weren't THAT rushed for church so we took some pictures before leaving the house.
William and Juju. I love these pictures!
Julie and my mom look so much alike in all these pictures. I'm clearly the odd daughter that looks like her Daddy.
We went to the 8:45 church service and William did great in the nursery, especially for his first time there! After church, we went back to my parent's house and let William nap before loading up and heading to my grandparents for an amazing Easter lunch.
William's fun continued at Jan Jan and Sam's with another Easter basket. He's just a LITTLE spoiled. Granny sent him an Easter card and some money for his piggy bank too :)
William loves an audience, unlike his Mommy!
Grant trying not to act annoyed with me for taking too many pictures. Sorry, it's my hobby.
Jan Jan taught him to make a kissy face. He's still doing it! Yet again, all eyes on William.
It's hard to believe my grandparents have watched 8 grandchildren grow up and now they are getting to see their great-grandchildren. I went by my Dad's office on Friday with my mom, and his accountant told me a sweet story about Sam. Sam was in my Dad's office several weeks ago and was telling the accountant about our entire family getting together. She said "Oh Mr. Torrence, you must be so excited!" He responded, "All I really care about is seeing William." Love it!
He's got a death grip on those eggs, and I dare you to take them away!
As usual, an egg in each hand!
I think Sam could watch William 24/7 if he could.
Uncle Doug and Aunt Kayla looking good.
I have an obsession with dimples in baby hands. I'll probably cry when William's go away.
Kissy face! His personality is really coming out!
He'd had enough pictures by this point and took off. I don't blame him.
Family picture attempt. Not great, but it'll do.
Kayla and her future grandmother-in-law (Did I just make up a word?!)
Getting sleepy...
If the walls in that dining room could talk we'd have some hilarious stories to remember. I love being at my grandparent's house because that's where my mom and her 2 sisters grew up, and I grew up spending every holiday there starting as an infant. It was sort of surreal having William sit next to me in a high-chair at the dining room table. I can remember being 6 years old sitting in the "kid room" and always wondering when I'd be "grown up enough" to sit in the big room. I honestly don't see how my grandmother can still prepare a beautiful meal for a big group of people at 80 years old.
Always love seeing Mr. Bunny every year. Jan Jan, I want him when you are ready to part with him.
Now that I've posted WAY too many pictures and blabbered too much, I want William to know when he reads this one day that Easter is about our Lord and Savior dying on the cross for OUR sins, NOT Easter baskets, frilly outfits, and cute bunny decorations. I'm thankful for a wonderful, memorable first Easter with our baby boy!
