3 Months Old

Charlotte turned 3 months old while we were at the beach for the Davis family vacation! This past month has been so much fun watching our baby grow and reach new developmental milestones. She's become so interactive and talkative :) She loves to hear herself coo and has recently learned to change the pitch of her voice. We hear a lot of "gooos, oooohhs, and aaahgoos" and she does this funny little noise where she'll roll her tongue. She is a big time momma's girl which I don't mind one bit. When I leave the room and come back she gets so excited and will squeal and kick her legs.

She's mesmerized and a little scared of big brother ;) He loves to get right up in her face and talk to her in silly voices and smother her with kisses. We are so proud of how well William has adjusted to having a little sister. Sometimes I'll try to spend alone time with William and he will usually ask that Charlotte come along or join whatever we are doing. I don't want to speak too soon but I haven't sensed in jealousy from him yet. William has become a HUGE and I mean HUGE Daddy's boy. Last night Grant was out of town and William held onto a picture of him and cried (for a long time) saying "I miss my Daddy." It was quite possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen. He woke up several times in the night asking for Daddy too. William and I are both relieved that Daddy is back today :)

She's drinking 5 oz. of breast milk every 2-3 hrs. Thankfully, she's not spitting up nearly as much as she used to. William set the bar high for Charlotte in the sleep department and she is not following in his footsteps. We put her down between 7 and 8pm, and most nights she wakes up around midnight and then again around 3 or 4am. We swaddle her but keep her arms out. The pediatrician gave me the OK to let her cry it out but I'm not quite ready for that yet. In all honesty, I'm really not that tired. Over the past week I've been putting her in the crib for naps and she's surprisingly done well with that. She's still not on any type of nap schedule but I'm going to start working on this.

Charlotte had her first day of daycare yesterday and she did well. She's staying with a lady that keeps 4 babies at a time in her home. I'm doing much better than I was with William in terms of anxiety about leaving her. I'll only be working 20 hrs/week so I know I can do this!
 3 Month Stats:
Weight: 13 lbs, 15 oz. (75th percentile)
Height: 25 inches (97th percentile)
Head circumference: (50th percentile)

Charlotte, you are SOOOOO loved! I literally have to refrain from nibbling on your sweet cheeks. I thank God for you life!
