William Lately

Here are a couple of phrases aka grammatical errors William makes routinely that make me want to gobble him up:

Favorite is "davorite"
Family is "damily"
Four is "door"
Five is "dive"

When counting, 11 is "eleventeen."

His teacher, Ms. Vicki, is "Ms. Dickie"

You get the trend...he substitutes a 'd' for all 'f's' and 'v's'

When referring to Charlotte, he doesn't know the pronoun "she" so everything is "her."

"Mommy, hers hungry, hers crying."
"Her needs a new diaper."
"Her is about to spit up on me."

He also refers to Charlotte as his "best durl, sweet durl, bootiful baby durl and sweetie pie and sweetheart." I die.

His best friend at school is Luke. At home, he would prefer to spend every waking moment with our neighbor Buck who is 4.

When he gets mad at Grant or me, he routinely says "You are NOT my best friend anymore and I'm finding a new DAMILY (family)!!"

Lila Blake Whittington

Lila Blake Whittington was born on Monday, November 2 and I was thrilled and honored to spend the day with Ragan, Kyle and their families waiting on her arrival. Ragan and I have experienced many major milestones together over our lifetime including kindergarten graduation, first sleepovers, first dances, first heartbreaks, turning 16 and driving together, first concerts, being in the "dumb" math class together our entire school career, traveling to Europe, high school graduation, pledging KD, doing grad school together, celebrating engagements, then weddings, first children, and I look forward to all the memories to come! She is truly one of a kind and my very best friend. We just get each other and always have. We are very different in many ways, yet oddly similar in others. It's hard to explain. If something is going on in my life that I would typically keep quiet, she knows about it. Enough of the mush and on to pics of this precious baby!!!

Ragan was cool, calm and collected the entire day and has continued to be that way since baby Lila was born. I knew Ragan and Kyle would be amazing parents!

Ragan brought a cake to the hospital on the day William was born so I decided to do the same for Lila.
After laboring all day (similar to Julie) baby Lila had a "facial presentation" so Ragan was prepped for surgery and taken to the OR. She continued to remain calm and so did Kyle!

About an hour later, Kyle proudly walked into the room with his beautiful daughter! The room was filled with squeals as everyone checked Lila out from head to toe. She is perfection.
There is nothing more beautiful than new life.
 Kyle is smitten.

 10 precious, tiny toes.

Lila is one lucky baby girl to have an aunt like Hayden!!

Welcome to the world Lila! I'm so excited for all the fun times we will have with you! I can't wait to watch you and your bestie, Charlotte, grow up together.

8 Months Old

Charlotte is 8 months old! The biggest news over this past month is that she has a tooth. It's one of her bottom ones and it popped up shortly after she turned 7 months. We didn't even notice it until one morning William said, "Charlotte bit me and it hurt because she has teeth." We kind of ignored him and then later on that night I saw it for myself! We were in Dothan this past weekend so I'm using these pics as her official 8 month pictures. She really is the happiest baby but decided to get serious for these pics.

Chewing on Daddy Steve's baby rattle.

Other big, exciting news is I am officially DONE with pumping. Yahoo!!! I quit a couple of days ago and should have enough frozen milk for Charlotte to have for several more months. I have nothing against giving her formula but I've been lucky to have an abundance of milk this go around...haha. She eats one vegetable a day. I probably need to start adding more food but I haven't yet. Her favorites are butternut squash and sweet potatoes. She still drinks a 6 oz. bottle every 3 hours or so.

She started waking up again at night over the past month...NOT FUN. She usually goes down around 6:30 and has been waking up at 10pm and then again at 2am and up for the day around 6am. We may be doing CIO again soon. Her naps are still not consistent but she averages about 3 hrs. of sleep during the day.

She's finally sitting up on her own! She grabs at everything, especially people's hair and loves to pass things from one hand to the other. She recently started waving bye bye and clapping which is pretty much precious! I can tell she's beginning to show the first signs of separation anxiety. She will sometimes bury her head in my chest if she gets overwhelmed or scared. I think she's going to be a little more reserved and shy than William but we shall see.

She also says "Dada" and "Bubba" (more like "baba" but William thinks she is referring to him). She also loves to squeal and she does this hilarious growling noise.

Charlotte is such a happy girl and brings so much joy to our family with her pure sweetness!! Just for fun, I looked back at William's 8 month post on the blog. By 8 months he had 4 teeth, was crawling, pulling up on everything, and eating 3 meals/day. Wowzers. It is true...all babies are different! We love you sweet Char!

Halloween 2015

We had a fun Halloween weekend, despite the rain! William loved participating in his class Halloween parade this year. Back in September he informed us that he wanted to be Captain America for Halloween. He must have heard of this super hero at school because Grant and I were clueless about who he was :) Anyway...Captain America he was...

This is the first year he's really gotten into the whole dressing up thing.
Our precious Captain America ready for the Halloween parade at school!
Meanwhile, I had been eyeing this baby lamb costume at PBK for our very own lamb chop since shortly after she was born. I am a sucker for a baby in a costume.

On Friday night, we went to the witch's ride in Homewood and William LOVED it. A bunch of witches (moms) on bikes ride through the streets throwing candy to the children.

 My baby lamb.

Charlotte was terrified of toppling over and William had already spotted other kids on the street trick-or-treating. He was ready to GO.

There are 22 children on our street. We are so thankful for such wonderful neighbors. Some Saturdays William will spend hours in the culdesac playing with other children ranging in age from 3-10.
Although William is one of the younger ones on the street, he thinks he's one of the big kids. They are so sweet and patient with him too!
After trick-or-treating (in the rain), the entire street ate soup at one of the neighbor's house. It was super chaotic but very fun! I think it'll be a Willis Dr. tradition. Can't wait until next year :)
