12 Month Stats & School Pictures

William had his 1 year check-up on Tuesday. I was glad we had the appointment scheduled because he was the last baby in his class to bite the dust with HAND, FOOT, AND MOUTH DISEASE! Could you think of a more terrible name for a virus for your child to have?! Sunday evening (after his party on Saturday) he spiked a fever, was restless all night, and woke up very fussy. I had a very important meeting at work on Monday morning so Grant stayed home with William while I went to the hospital for a couple of hours. I came home around noon that day and I honestly thought about calling DHR on my own husband.

When I got home from work, I thought William had a rash all over his face, which turned out to be left over remnants from the fig newtons he had for breakfast AND lunch. He was also drenched in milk and smelled like sour milk :) I couldn't help but laugh. The entire house was a wreck! I honestly don't know how they made THAT big of a mess in just 3 hours.

William continued to feel pretty puny the rest of Monday and ran a low grade fever. At his 1 year check up, he got the official diagnosis of hand, foot, and mouth disease based on the small red bumps on his feet & hands and ulcer in his mouth. There's really nothing you can do to treat this disease but give tylenol/motrin. He is now on the mend and in good shape. Here are a couple of pictures from my phone from the appointment. He also had to get 3 shots :( Poor, poor baby! He only cried for about a minute and then was completely fine! Thankfully, he's never had a bad reaction to the shots. After lunch, I took him to Gilchrists for a grilled cheese. He ate his entire grilled cheese and half of my cherry limeade from my straw :)

Happy baby pre-shots! He likes to look at himself on my phone :)

William weighed 24lbs. 6oz (70th %ile) and was 31.5 inches long (90th %ile). His pediatrician said he was going to be tall and lean. His head circumference was 19 in. (90th %ile).

William's school pictures came in this week as well. His teachers told me he was cheesin' it up for the photographer, and they were right... he really turned it on. We've been cracking up over these pics! *His forehead looks HUGE because they are a phone pic of the proofs because we are too cheap to order the real photos*

His body look so disproportionate because of the angle I took with my iphone!
