Easter 2014

{Warning: stop reading now if you don't want to see a million pics} We headed to Dothan for Easter weekend. It was such a fun, low-key weekend with family! My aunt Lee, uncle Paul, and cousin Lane were in town from Memphis, so we had a great time catching up with them. We also got to meet Uncle Doug's wonderful girlfriend, Katie! Hope our crazy clan wasn't too much for her!

Katie instantly won William over with these precious, DELICIOUS Easter cookies!!! They are better than any cookie I've had in Birmingham.

It's not a Shaw family weekend without lots of yummy desserts! Julie picked up an Olexa's cake in Birmingham for the weekend.
William enjoyed going through all of Uncle Doug's old trucks and cars and zooming them around the house. William loves zoomin' for hours and hours and hours.

Sweet Katie soon learned that I was the paparazzi! Dad did hamburgers on the grill Saturday night for everyone.
Mom, Uncle Paul, and Little Lane

William LOVED hugging on his great grandfather Sam all weekend. I don't think I've ever witnessed anything sweeter. Pure joy!!!

He also learned that great-grandparents give you as much cake and ice cream as you want!

Sunday morning, William woke up to find that the Easter bunny made his way to Juju's house. He had a few meltdowns about not getting to eat 36 M&M's before 8am that morning so I have no pics to document him going through his Easter basket because it wasn't pretty :)

William stayed in the nursery while the rest of us went to the early church service. He screamed when I left him but it didn't take long for him to calm down. That was the first time I've left him in my parent's church nursery since he was born, because in the past I've always caved in and sat in the narthex with him. After church, we went back to my parent's house so William could take a short, MUCH needed nap before heading to lunch at my grandparents!

The Easter bunny made his way to Jan Jan and Sam's house too. He's just a little spoiled.

Beautiful Easter decorations by Jan Jan!

Here is William begging David for "mo candy."

 Love these two guys.

He was looking for the Easter bunny in this picture.

 He keeps us laughing.

My mom made his sweet outfit.

I'm afraid he got Mommy's legs. Sorry bud!!!

We look forward to William understanding the true meaning and celebration of Easter more next year. This year he didn't even grasp the concept of egg hunting, much less what Easter is really all about.
