Beach Weekend - Part I

We returned Monday afternoon from one of the most fun weekends we've had since William was born! We headed south Thursday evening, spent the night in Dothan, and then woke up bright and early to drive further south to the beach. William never stopped smiling, except for the usual toddler meltdowns, the entire time we were there. Of course, a big part of the reason was because he had 24 hour entertainment from JuJu. He really enjoyed exploring the new environment, splashing in his baby pool on the deck, watching and pointing at boats going by, barking at Abigail, eating anything and everything he wanted, boat riding, swimming in the gulf, walking inside & outside through the porch door over and over, playing in the sand, swimming at Shell Island, strolling, taking long afternoon naps, singing songs, and dancing. Phew...I'm tired just typing that. The child never stops moving!

 Night 1. SO happy!
After his eye procedure tomorrow, I hope I never see his left eye water or get green and gunky!
One of his favorite "games" was for Juju to pour water on his feet. It's the small things :)
It's hard to believe he was a teeny tiny newborn (6 weeks old) the last time he was in this little rocker. I found it in my parent's closet and knew he'd enjoy it.

 Makin' business deals :)

 Talking about life...

Boat riding with Juju. He's not wearing a life jacket but our eyes never drifted away from him. Probably NOT a smart decision and next time we're at the beach, he'll just have to scream while he wears his life jacket.

He liked sitting in his own chair like a big boy!

He never opened his eyes while we were on the boat...hilarious! The brightness and wind was just too much for little eyes, and he wouldn't keep his sunglasses on.

We've definitely decided he is a WATER BABY! He is fearless and would've stayed in the baby pool all day if we let him. I was paranoid about him getting too much sun so he only spent short periods of time outside.

Beach bum
I definitely needed to breathe some fresh beach air!

Saturday night, Quin treated us to a wonderful meal at Captain Anderson's. All of the waitresses that have been there since I was a baby couldn't believe that I now have a baby! William did pretty good at dinner and his entertainment was stacking butter packets on the table. He only managed to open one and smear it all over him!

This is the face of a baby whose baby pool has just been dumped out in front of his very own eyes. NOT HAPPY!
One of the biggest treats of the weekend was having Uncle Doug join us! William loves him!!! He's going to be such a great Daddy one day. We missed Kayla this trip...she had to work :(

Love me some chunky baby thighs!!

To be continued...
